Mom had a gathering of a few friends this weekend. I
always enjoy the company; I make a point of spending some quality time
with each visitor.

| We did have a little incident though, a married couple
was in attendance and they had a little squabble in front of everybody. The
wife complained that the husband was refilling his drink too
frequently. The husband said that the glass was really small and the
ice cubes really large. Mom thought that explanation sounded a bit
silly then noticed that I had a little extra swagger to my step. Mom
asked the husband where he had been putting his drink down. Out of concern
for the furniture he had been placing it on the floor. They had to learn
the hard way the first rule of Shorty’s household – If it’s on the floor its
mine….. |
